Here at the Self Image institute, we are a private hypnotherapy and counselling service. We always aim to bring you the highest levels of client care.

There are times in our lives when we feel unable to cope. At these moments, it's important to know there is someone you can turn to for help.

The Self Image Institute is a centre of excellence for affordable, professional Hypnotherapy.

When mental health has never been more critical, it can be hard to know where to go for expert help.

We also combine our knowledge of nutrition, meditation, exercise, and Yoga, to offer a holistic approach to our services.

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a normal and natural method of altering someone's state of consciousness. It is enjoyable and relaxing, has no harmful side effects and is suitable for just about everybody.

Meditation is a practice in which an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity.

Yoga is a mind and body practice. Various styles of Yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy is rooted in psychoanalysis and is another one of the types of psychotherapy, but it is a bit simpler. In this technique, your therapist will get to know your feelings, beliefs, and life experiences to help you recognise and change recurring patterns. It can be short-term (a few months) or as long as two years.

Psychoanalysis has been used for years and has been updated as many times as its been criticised. Most people think of this when they hear the term "talk therapy." It's still a prevalent form of therapy and can be very useful for bringing unconscious problems to the surface to be dissected and resolve

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is another cognitive-behavioural technique that employs mindfulness to help patients see and understand their negative thoughts, allowing them to gain some distance and alter how they react to those thoughts.

CONFIDENTIALITY

I am trained to offer Hypnotherapy and will help you understand how 
past experiences, worries about the future, or what goes on for you unconsciously may be affecting your life.

Counselling is arranged on a once-weekly basis in fifty-minute sessions
and can be on either an open-ended basis or for a set number of sessions, depending on your needs. This is discussed with you during your initial assessment appointment.

Confidentiality in counselling creates a space where we can explore sensitive subjects knowing that I will not repeat or misuse the information discussed outside of the counselling room.

AVAILABILITY

Sessions can be arranged between 9 am and 9 pm Monday to Friday and some 
Saturday mornings are subject to availability. At the Self Image institute, we try to avoid long wait times before treatment can begin.

Our in-person sessions are arranged in our rooms in central Lewes. We are also able to offer telephone or online Hypnotherapy if needs be. Home visits can also be arranged if needed.

We are committed to ensuring Hypnotherapy is available to all who need it; we offer rooms at a separate location for disabled access.

COSTS

Weekly hypnotherapy fees are explained and discussed with you during the initial assessment.

Session fees are agreed upon between us before your first hypnotherapy session. 

We operate a sliding scale of fees from £60 to £180 per session - depending on 
what type of session is discussed.

Fees are paid using a credit or debit card on our online booking system.
